Founded in 2026, CarWood Preparatory Academy was created to meet the evolving needs of families seeking exceptional early childhood and elementary enrichment. Our academy is guided by a commitment to innovative teaching, a research-informed curriculum, and a holistic approach to child development, ensuring a nurturing and dynamic environment for every student.

Our leadership team holds advanced master’s degrees and brings over 20 years of hands-on experience with children across a variety of settings—from competitive cheer and dance programs to foster care and traditional educational environments. This diverse expertise allows us to connect with children on multiple levels, fostering confidence, creativity, and resilience alongside academic growth.

Christopher Carmona-Woodard

 

Headmaster / Co-Director

Christopher Carmona-Woodard is a passionate and accomplished educator who brings both heart and expertise to CarWood Preparatory Academy. A proud graduate of Hitchcock High School, Christopher’s leadership began early as a two-time collegiate cheerleader, Top Gun Award winner, and an impressive seven-time NCA All American Cheerleader for Hitchcock. He continued his academic journey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, and a Post-Master’s Certification in K-12 Educational Leadership.

Christopher’s dedication to youth development shines through his experience as a Special Education EC-12 Teacher at Brazoswood High School. As the owner of Army Cheer & Dance Academy and Royal Academy of Dance & Cheer—both decorated with national titles—Christopher has inspired countless children to dream big, work hard, and believe in themselves. His five years as a licensed foster care provider further reflect his commitment to nurturing and supporting every child’s unique needs. At CarWood Preparatory Academy, Christopher creates an environment where children are celebrated, challenged, and cared for—making it a top choice for families seeking a micro school or after school program that truly makes a difference.

Felipe A. Carmona-Woodard

 

Dean of Students / Co-Director

 

Felipe A. Carmona-Woodard is dedicated to guiding young learners with patience, encouragement, and a genuine love for education. A graduate of Texas State Technical College, Felipe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. He is also a Certified CNA, reflecting his broad skillset and commitment to caring for others.

Felipe’s experience as a Behavior Co-Teacher at Brazoswood High School has given him the tools to support every child’s social and emotional growth. As co-owner of Army Cheer & Dance Academy, Felipe has empowered children to reach new heights—both personally and competitively—earning national titles and building confidence along the way. Felipe’s nurturing approach and hands-on experience make him a trusted leader, ensuring every student at CarWood Preparatory Academy feels welcomed, supported, and inspired to learn.

​Together, Christopher and Felipe Carmona-Woodard have created a learning environment where children’s strengths are celebrated, potential is unlocked, and families find a true educational partner. Beyond the four walls of CarWood Preparatory Academy, we are more than willing to advocate for every alumni student in there next educational journey whether that be as gen-ed or special educational student.
